AlumierMD – Ultimate Boost Serum

So I’ve been slowly introducing more and more AlumierMD products into my routine this past twelve months & swapping them over from my existing products. I actually wasn’t using a serum before I purchased this – well, not one that I’d committed to using everyday.

I’ve been using this serum for the past four months. AlumierMD suggest putting this on after cleansing in the morning, then applying SPF and moisturiser. When I first bought this serum, Alex, my skincare expert suggested using it in the mornings before I apply my SPF, and possibly skipping my moisturiser as the two should be enough together for my skin. I did try this for a a week or so, but because my skin leans towards the more oily side (no where near as bad as it used to be, but still slightly), I found it wasn’t the right time for me to apply this. I did get a little put off by it, but made myself give it another chance so I started using this in the evenings instead…

The consistency of this serum, like most, is quite watery/runny. It’s white-ish in colour, but soaks right in when you massage it into your skin. This is advertised as a moisture replenishing serum, suitable for oily, dry, normal and combination skin. I think this is because, no matter your skin type – every skin needs hydration and moisture. It might just depend on what time of day you use it to feel like you’re getting the best out of it.

The most boasted about ingredient in Ultimate Boost is “MAXTRIXYL Synthe’6.” AlumierMD says this ingredient strengthens skin & improves elasticity (yay!), also reducing the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles. It’s also packed with antioxidants, including a blend of tea extracts – these are included to neutralise free radicals & protect your skin from future damage.

You may have heard of Niacinamide – this is also an ingredient in the serum. Niacinamide brightens skin, calms redness & improves hydration – just what we all want, right?!

The list of the main ingredients from the AlumierMD website:

MATRIXYL™ Synthe’6™®: Derived from a peptide naturally found in collagen and laminins, MATRIXYL™ Synthe’6™ is a tripeptide that strengthens the skin and improves elasticity, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Sodium Hyaluronate: A form of hyaluronic acid that hydrates by drawing water into the outer layers from deep within the skin. It holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, making skin plumper, softer and smoother.

Glutathione: An antioxidant peptide produced naturally in our bodies, glutathione helps recycle other antioxidants. Glutathione levels decrease with age.

Tetrapeptide-14, Tea Extracts, Boswellia Serrate Extract, Honey: A redness-relieving peptide combined with the antioxidant properties of tea and the calming qualities of honey and boswellia.

Niacinamide (vitamin B3): Niacinamide increases ceramide and free fatty acids in the skin, which are key components of its protective lipid barrier. Along with keeping in moisture and boosting hydration, it also brightens ski and calms redness.

So, as I said, I started using this in the evenings. It wasn’t until about two weeks after I started using it in the evenings that I became aware that when waking up in the morning, my skin was glowing and felt soft. It took me a minute to realise it was probably the introduction of Ultimate Boost!

It definitely calmed my redness that I have got going on, but more importantly it made my skin feel so hydrated, it definitely feels softer than ever! Once I’ve cleansed and toned in the evening, I apply 1-2 pumps of this to my face & neck. I then leave it 5 minutes and then go on to apply my moisturiser. It has a neutral smell – you could probably pick up a scent if you really thought about it, but nothing that lingers at all.

It definitely has been a positive addition to my skincare routine & I can see noticeble results from adding it in. I’m so glad Alex suggested this to me. It costs £69.50 for 30ml bottle – I’m still using the same bottle I purchased at the beginning of February, so it does last a while, I think I’m coming to the end of my bottle now, so 4 months is great! I’m definitely re-purchasing this product from AlumierMD – I can’t believe I actually got into the habit of using a serum everyday! You can use this morning and evening too, it wouldn’t be too much for the skin at all!

You can only buy AlumierMD products from their experts so if you’re looking for an online consultation or just want to order some products, I use @Salt__Beauty – if you drop them a DM, they’ll be able to review your skin and/or order your products & get them delivered straight to your door, no matter where you live in the UK!
